Bright Light Education Centre is just getting its start in Uganda. Henry Ngolobe, his wife Jesca, and their kids moved there from Rwanda, where he was the headmaster of a school. Their goal is to provide a quality Christian education to kids who have very poor educational opportunities. We’ve helped them outfit their school with supplies from tables and chairs to chalkboards and textbooks to playground equipment and a projector. We’ve also bought food for school lunches.

We are also partnering with AsOne Ministries to fund the construction of a new classroom! We’re excited for this project to come to fruition. AsOne is based in Sioux Falls SD and sponsors Henry’s work in Uganda and that of others in Uganda and Rwanda.

BLEC also looking for tuition sponsors to pay teachers. In the meantime Henry and Jesca will teach the students themselves. If you’re interested in sponsoring a child’s education go to their Facebook page or let us help you get in contact with them!

Help Orphans and Widows is creating a self-sustaining community of goat farmers in one area of Uganda. When a husband there dies, his family can claim all of his belongings and his wife can be left with nothing. HOW buys farm animals, teaches modern agricultural techniques for gardens, and provides veterinary support. CHF was able to fund a herd of goats, which Karen Lantz of Rapid City travels to Uganda to deliver every year.
